Completion of the level 4 in Sports Massage Therapy (SMT) enables practitioners to provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients and treat/ seek to correct common patterns of dysfunction and pre-diagnosed injuries.
The L4 SMT will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to:
- Understand the clinical procedures for client assessment and treatment planning.
Conduct objective physical assessments. - Understand the purpose of neuromuscular and tissue mobilisation techniques in sports massage and the skills to be able to apply effective neuromuscular and tissue mobilisation techniques.
- Utilise soft tissue techniques appropriate to specific clients.
- Understand treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair.

Entry Requirements
You must have completed a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in appropriate sports/soft tissue massage that can be referenced to standardised qualifications framework, be physically able to do the work, have good communication skills and be at least 18 years old.
Ideally, you will have strong skills and experience in functional anatomy, palpation, joint movements and muscle actions before enrolling on this course.
